Where I grew up near the Chesapeake Bay, many people had lovely white driveways that were made of crush oyster shells. I loved the way they crunched under my sneakers. And because I was a kid, I was always hoping to find the odd pearl that slipped into the mix.
That's so interesting! I haven't seen many crushed oyster shell driveways here in Maine, but that's a great idea. Maybe we'll start to see those if our aquaculture industry continues to develop.
